I think that often people are in denial about evil because they don’t want to admit they are capable of it, or that their beloved historical heroes were evil. And admitting the evil excused by the Catholic Church? Way too much cognitive dissonance for adherents of that faith.

But the more we say it, the more likely some people are to hear it.
