This is such an intractable problem. I don’t know what the answer is.
When she was in her 20s, my daughter was raped on a date. Like you, she chose not to report. She even blamed herself for the assault. She did not tell me about it for several years afterwards.
How many other women has her rapist assaulted in the years since then. Almost unbearable to think about.
