This is great advice. But I don't think it's just men who are guilty of self-absorption. People who perceive themselves as at a social advantage tend to be less aware of others' feelings. I've had plenty of girlfriends who treated me this way. I allowed it because I didn't value myself enough.

Long story short, women should insist on good behavior from men and from their friends. Don't go on a second date with a man who suggests a walk when you are wearing high heels.

Hopefully, this will be painful enough for these oblivious guys to start considering others' feelings.
