This is all too true. I caught Covid in March 2020 when I was teaching drama in a busy high school. I was sick for a week and barely finished the school year with an extreme lack of energy. It has been 2 years since my retirement, and my energy has not come back. I guess I should consider myself lucky that I don’t have to teach. You can bet I’m going to continue to wear my N-95 masks in public and avoid things like eating inside restaurants for the foreseeable future.
I can’t believe the number of people in my community who have drunk the Koolaid about the end of the pandemic. As the Buddhist monks would say “We’ll see.”
