The corporate world is brutal. I never knew it because I had a government job for most of my career. But my daughter has been through what you describe more than once. Each time it was utterly devastating. It’s too bad that businesses can’t be more compassionate. It seems like the drive for profit and ego satisfaction is dehumanizing us. I hope the culture changes.
