So true! I was bullied by both boys and girls in junior high, and the girls were much worse. Utterly relentless.

There's a wonderful novel by Margaret Atwood on female bullying called Cat's Eye. It was based on her own experiences growing up in Toronto in the 1940s. Devastating.

When I taught this novel as a high school teacher, the students, mostly girls, really related to the protagonist's experiences of female bullying.

Girl bullying is real and very scary.
