Of course, DeSantis believes (or pretends to believe) that he is protecting children. From whom? Teachers. Teachers are the real enemy to him; teachers are the ones who need to be demonized in case they spread the contagion of truth about his own fascism and the ultimate fascism of American society that benefits elites like him.
