I saw this in my own family. I have an adopted sibling. They were tested for intelligence and scored higher than anyone else in the family. Later, they found out their biological parents were highly educated and professionally successful. Because of my sibling, I am skeptical of the idea that nurture trumps nature, even though I was taught to believe that in my teacher education.
