I moved to the US 2 years ago. I tried substitute teaching a few times, but have given it up. At an elementary school, two 5th-grade boys got into a fight during math class. I picked up the one on top up and led him back to his desk and told him he couldn’t solve problems that way. I had been told never to touch a student, but I couldn’t let them hurt each other.
That was the last time I taught in this country.
