I had a similar experience when I left my abusive husband. My daughter was 15 and decided I was the bad parent. Her father encouraged this attitude. She refused to stay with me, opting for the comfort of the home she knew. He managed to poison her against me for over 10 years. It was sadly not until her 30s that we developed the close relationship we now have.
