Fascinating. It’s making me think differently about Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Victor Frankenstein is immersed in Alchemy before he creates the monster. And then out of nowhere, he discovers the “secret of life.”

I wonder if Shelley or her parents, both 18th century philosophers, had access to some of this secret lost knowledge and passed it onto her.

Just an intriguing thought.
