Excellent research and overview. I moved from Canada to the American Midwest because Canada was becoming too expensive. Where I live now, homes are affordable. There is also a great deal of water (from the Great Lakes), as well as less pollution. I do belong to a religious community, but no one is blaming modern mores for climate change. The community comes together to help those in need. There is a strong contingent in my community that advocates for native plants to restore balance in the environment. Many people have replaced their lawns with native varieties and we are in the process of clearing out invasive plants from the area around our synagogue. Even though we are in the US, I feel this area is a good choice for avoiding the worst consequences of climate change.
