Capitalism, socialism, communism, Buddhism, whatever, do not "make" people anything. They just bring out what is already there. Human nature is selfish. Capitalism might help bring that out, Thatcher might resonate with that selfishness, but they can't happen without the innate capacity lying under the surface. The blank slate theory has never worked. Even a perferct society will not produce universally perfect people. Sorry, we're all bad. And we all have to work at being better.
