Canada is just as bad, even though we have two official languages. Kids in English Canada are forced to learn French until the first year of high school. They hate it and it does absolutely no good. The average person has zero intellectual curiosity.
My friend in France tells me that the excellent education system in that country benefits mostly the top students who are slated to go to elite universities.
